// 01 — CAPABILITIES

Built around manual ECU editing.

Ecuno does not tune the file for you. It's the manual workbench — you decide every change, and the tool keeps the stock reference, the diff, and the checksum honest.

MAPS

Manual map editing

Create named maps from addresses, rows, columns, data type, factor, offset, and axis locations. Edit values in a table view instead of working only from raw hex.

DIFF

Stock vs modified

Keep the original file as reference. Changed cells stay marked, and selected values show stock, modified, and delta.

CSM

Checksum validation

Validate and correct checksums for supported ME7 / ME7.5 files, and see checksum state before export instead of shipping blind.

VCS

Project history

Keep maps, notes, and edited versions together instead of saving random files like final_final_v3.bin.

XDF

Map definitions

Work from manual definitions and importable map packs. Bring your own — no proprietary packs are bundled.

// 02 — WORKFLOW

From stock BIN to modified BIN.

Start from the original file, define the maps you need, edit values, review changes, and export a new version.

01

Open the stock file

Upload or open the original .bin file. Ecuno focuses on Bosch ME7 / ME7.5 workflows.

$ open stock_file.bin
$ family Bosch ME7 / ME7.5
$ status stock loaded
02

Define and edit maps

Create maps from known addresses, axes, data type, factor, offset, and units. Edit values in table view and keep the original file as reference.

$ map KFMIRL @ 0x1C830
$ size 16 x 16
$ unit % load
03

Review and export

Check what changed against stock, validate and correct the checksum, then export the modified BIN.

$ diff 4 maps changed
$ checksum validated + fixed
$ export tune_v03.bin
// 03 — COMPATIBILITY

// 05 — FAQ

Common questions.

No. Ecuno is an editing and workflow tool. It helps you inspect, edit, compare, validate, and organise ECU binary files. It does not create a safe tune automatically.
The first focus is Bosch ME7 / ME7.5 style workflows, especially common VAG 1.8T use cases. The editor, comparison, definitions, and ME7 checksum handling work today; wider ECU support will be added carefully over time.
Ecuno is designed around imported or user-provided definitions. No proprietary or copyrighted definition packs are bundled. You bring your own definitions, or use community-shared ones.
Nothing. Ecuno is free — create an account and start editing right away. Every feature that exists today is available to everyone, no card required.
Yes. Checksum validation and correction are live for supported Bosch ME7 / ME7.5 files — Ecuno shows checksum state before export and can correct it. Coverage for other ECU families will expand over time; universal correction across all ECUs is not promised.
Yes. Ecuno does not replace calibration knowledge or judgment. It is meant to make the editing workflow cleaner and reduce tool friction — not to make decisions for you.
